Meet the team
Nicole is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Lactation Counselor with over a decade of experience in hospital settings and more than five years of experience in home birth care. Born in Queens and raised in the Bronx by a proud Caribbean family, Nicole integrates cultural humility, trust, and generational wisdom into her practice. She began her career at Maimonides Medical Center in 2014 before transitioning to home birth, where she was inspired by the strength of birthing people and the deep connections formed in intimate, family-centered settings. At the birthing center, Nicole offers full-scope, evidence-based midwifery care grounded in compassion and a strong belief in every person’s right to an empowered birth experience.
Annalee is a licensed midwife with a lifelong calling to support families through birth. She began her career as a Medical Laboratory Scientist before discovering midwifery in 2013. Later attending Midwives College of Utah and then SUNY Downstate, completing a Master’s in Midwifery to practice in New York. Annalee has served internationally in Guatemala and is deeply rooted in community work through SuperMamma Birth Services, focusing on education, advocacy, and maternal health equity. Her passion for birthwork runs deep—turns out it’s in her blood, as her grandmother was also a midwife in Jamaica.

Absolutely! The Birth Center is about 45 minutes drive from most places in NYC. However, we would recommend if you are located more than 2 hours away from OBC to consider an alternative option.

We are Out of Network Providers with all insurance plans, but work with all insurance plans to try and get you the most coverage for your medical care. You will learn more about the weeds that is health insurance coverage at your consultation appointment!

Soooo, any transfer beyond 30 weeks of pregnancy is considered “late.“ However, we review late transfers on a case-by-case basis. Some are appropriate and others not. If you are strongly considering a transfer of care, please obtain your prenatal medical records (all labs done in pregnancy and all ultrasounds at minimum) BEFORE booking a consultation. We will need to review them before being able to have our consultation discussion! This may be downloading them from EPIC or your provider’s respective EMR…. or going to the Medical Records department yourself and asking them to hand you your records. Sometimes it takes one day, some times 2 weeks, so plan for the later!

1) Gather all of your prenatal records to date for the midwives to review at your consultation. This is ESPECIALLY important if you are beyond 32 weeks of pregnancy.
All ultrasound reports
All laboratory results from initial labs, to genetic testing if done, to glucose test, to GBS swab … etc.
PRO tip: If your original provider gave you access to an electronic medical record system like EPIC, Mobile Midwife, Maternity Neighborhood, ClientCare, etc. you can download your records yourself directly from the portal. It will possibly be 10-15 or more individual pdfs but that will do the trick!
2) Optional: Call your health insurance provider and ask them if you have “Out of Network Benefits that will cover Global Maternity Care with an Out of Network Midwife for delivery at a Birthing Center.”

4) Let us know within 5 days if you would like to sign-on for care! After that it’s first come, first served.
